What exactly is “Core” training? To answer that we must first address what the core is.
The core is simply what exists between the shoulders and hips. This is to say the trunk and the pelvis region. The more stable the trunk, the less chance for injury.
Many injuries occur to the body in the general public because our core musculature simply isn’t developed or strong enough to stabilize our bodies and maintain them in proper alignment during normal tasks of daily living.
Activities such as lifting objects from point A to point B can often lead to a core injury due to a weakened, improperly aligned and improperly functioning core region. To stabilize the trunk and the pelvis we need all of the muscles in this aforementioned region to contract simultaneously in order to give the body its proper support.
It is paramount that an experienced, knowledgeable professional educate an individual on how to properly activate the core musculature so as to avoid potential injury. Additionally, a strong core will lead to a more functional, healthier you.
Furthermore, anyone who has sustained or endured a lower back injury or who simply suffers from acute to chronic discomfort in the lower back is all too familiar with the importance of having a strong core.
Walder Fitness will work with each individual teaching one how to properly and safely obtain a powerful core in small manageable steps, ultimately meeting one’s goal(s).
